Community Health Liaison

Job Description:
Community Health Liaison supporting foodborne disease outbreak investigations within a public health setting. The role focuses on conducting interviews, collecting and managing data, and assisting with environmental health investigations to support disease prevention efforts.
Details:
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, one-hour unpaid lunch
Hours Per Week: 35
Worksite: New York, NY 10013
Medical Clearance Required: No
Fit Testing Required: No
Pay: $32.00/hour, paid weekly via direct deposit
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental health, biology, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Experience or strong interest in infectious disease epidemiology or environmental health
- Prior experience with interviews, data collection, or public health investigations preferred
Skills and Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct structured interviews and gather accurate information
- Strong data entry and data management skills
- Ability to analyze and summarize findings from investigations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews related to foodborne disease outbreak investigations
- Collect, enter, and maintain accurate investigation data in designated systems
- Assist with coordination of outbreak investigations and case tracking
- Analyze and summarize collected data to support public health responses
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all activities
- Collaborate with team members across environmental health and disease prevention units
- Support overall public health initiatives related to food safety and disease prevention
