Job Description:

Registered Nurse supporting public health clinic operations with a focus on immunization services and communicable disease prevention. The role includes patient assessment, vaccine administration, education, and clinical support in a public health setting serving diverse populations.

• Details:
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, one-hour unpaid lunch
• Hours Per Week: 35
• Worksite: Various sites, New York, NY 11201.
• Medical Clearance Required: Yes
• Fit Testing Required: Yes 
• Pay: $55.00/hour, paid weekly via direct deposit

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or equivalent)
• Experience in immunization, public health, or outpatient clinical settings preferred

Skills and Requirements:

• Ability to conduct patient interviews and obtain medical and demographic information
• Knowledge of immunization schedules, vaccine administration, and storage protocols
• Competence in specimen collection, labeling, and handling
• Ability to administer medications and vaccines via PO, TD, IM, and SC routes
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to assess patient needs and determine appropriate care or referrals

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient intake, including medical history and demographic data collection
• Assess patient needs based on symptoms, history, and clinical guidelines
• Administer vaccines and medications per protocol and provider orders
• Provide patient education on immunizations, disease prevention, and general health topics
• Perform specimen collection and ensure proper labeling and handling
• Support clinic operations to maintain efficient patient flow and high-quality care
• Adhere to infection control and public health standards
• Document all patient interactions and care provided accurately and timely
