Job Description:
Registered Nurse supporting public health clinic operations focused on sexual health, immunization, and communicable disease prevention. The role involves patient assessment, education, specimen collection, and medication administration in a clinical setting serving diverse populations.

Details:
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, one-hour unpaid lunch
Hours Per Week: 35
Worksite: Various sites, New York, NY 10001
Medical Clearance Required: Yes
Fit Testing Required: Yes
Pay: $60.00/hour, paid weekly via direct deposit

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or equivalent)
• Experience in public health, sexual health, or outpatient clinical settings preferred

Skills and Requirements:

• Ability to conduct sensitive, patient-centered medical interviews
• Knowledge of sexual health, STI prevention, and treatment protocols
• Competence in specimen collection, labeling, and handling
• Ability to administer medications via PO, TD, IM, and SC routes
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to assess patient needs and make appropriate care or referral decisions

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct medical interviews, including sexual and medical history intake
• Obtain and document demographic and clinical information
• Assess patient symptoms and determine care needs based on protocols
• Perform specimen collection and ensure accurate labeling
• Administer medications as ordered and per clinical guidelines
• Provide patient education on STI prevention, m-pox, PrEP, PEP, contraception, and related topics
• Support clinic workflow to ensure efficient and quality patient care
• Maintain compliance with public health standards and infection control protocols
