[Travel] RN- Pediatric Emergency Department

Job Description:
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join the Pediatric Emergency Department at this Hospital in Syracuse, NY. This is a night shift contract position for nurses with a strong background in pediatric emergency care.

Contract Details:

Start Date: 6/06
End Date: 9/10

Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM shifts, including every other weekend and some holidays
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Weekly Pay: $2,640 (MI&L included)

Qualifications:  

• Current New York State RN license
• Current BLS certification (or ability to recertify before start date)
• Minimum of 2 years recent (within the last 2 years) experience in an acute care facility of similar size and level
• Required: Pediatric Emergency Department experience
• Formal triage training and demonstrated strong triage skills
• Preferred: EPIC EMR experience
• Strongly preferred: Previous experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma center
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• No history of license or certification suspension or investigation
• No involvement in professional liability claims
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Must pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check

Skills:
– Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
– Strong ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Key Responsibilities:
– Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced pediatric emergency environment with minimal supervision
– Perform thorough patient assessments and respond appropriately in acute care and emergency situations
– Apply critical thinking and triage skills effectively under pressure
– Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
– Accurately document patient information using EPIC EMR
– Maintain a safe and organized work environment
– Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and best practices in pediatric emergency care
