Job Description

We are seeking experienced night shift RNs for our Pediatric Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will have strong pediatric emergency experience, excellent triage skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Contract Details

• Start Date: 7/18
• End Date: 11/05
• Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
• Shift: Night Shift (1900–0730)
• Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Pay: $2,640 Weekly (MI&L included)

Qualifications

• Current New York State RN License
• Certified in BLS and able to be recertified
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience (within past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and level as this Hospital
• Travelers must have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size or trauma centers
• Must not have professional license or certification suspended or under investigation
• Must not have been named as a defendant in a professional liability claim
• Must have verification of legal right to work in the U.S.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
• Subject to drug screening and criminal background check

Skills and Requirements

• Majority of experience must be in Pediatric ED (Adult ED experience is a plus; combined Adult/Peds ED experience not accepted as sole qualification)
• Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience preferred
• EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience preferred
• Formally triage trained and strong triage skills required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to perform majority of patient care skills with minimal orientation and supervision

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and deliver acute care in a specialized pediatric emergency setting
• Provide safe, effective, and efficient patient care with minimal orientation and supervision
• Demonstrate strong triage and prioritization skills in high-pressure situations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR (preferred)
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
