Job Description:

Cure Staffing Inc. is seeking an experienced OR Registered Nurse for a temporary assignment.

Contract Details

• Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Nights (2 openings)
• Location: Downtown Hospital, Syracuse, NY 13210
• Contract Duration: May 16, 2025 – August 13, 2025
• Shift: Night shift, 8 five-hour shifts per week, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekly pay: $2,720 ( MI &L included ) 
• Schedule: Every third weekend required; on-call as needed

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in New York State
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in an operating room setting
• Demonstrated proficiency in general, orthopedic, trauma, neurosurgical, and robotic procedures
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate in the OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Skills & Requirements

• Advanced clinical knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and aseptic technique
• Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team
• Competence in patient assessment, medication administration, and documentation
• Ability to respond to emergencies and adapt to rapidly changing situations
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and continuous learning

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process
• Scrub and circulate for a variety of surgical cases, including general, orthopedic, trauma, neuro, and robotic procedures
• Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments, ensuring proper aseptic technique
• Monitor patient status, document care, and communicate changes in condition to the surgical team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes
• Participate in call rotation and work every third weekend as scheduled
• Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and postoperative care as appropriate
• Adhere to all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of professional practice
