Job Description

Cure Staffing is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) This position is ideal for nurses with a strong background in high-acuity pediatric care, particularly within trauma-designated hospitals. As a member of a collaborative and fast-paced team, you will provide critical care to some of the region’s most seriously ill pediatric patients.

Contract Details

      • Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
      • Start Date: July 11
      • End Date: October 8
      • Shift: Night Shift – 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (Every Other Weekend & 2 of 3 Major Holidays required)
      • Pay: $2,720 (MI&L included)

Qualifications

      • Current New York State RN license (required)
      • BLS certification (required; must be eligible for recertification)
      • Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience (within the past 2 years) in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center
      • Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (preferred)
      • No prior suspensions or investigations of professional licensure
      • Must not have been a named defendant in a professional liability claim
      • Must pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Skills and Requirements

      • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
      • Proficiency in monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and coordinating care plans
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after a brief orientation
      • Familiarity with EPIC EMR system (preferred)
      • Ability to educate and provide emotional support to families

Duties and Responsibilities

      • Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the Level 1 trauma PICU
      • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs
      • Administer medications and implement care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
      • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes using EPIC EMR (preferred)
      • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
      • Educate and support families throughout the patient care journey
      • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and evidence-based practices
      • Maintain professionalism and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and care
