[Travel] RN – Critical Care Pediatric ICU

Job Description:

Cure Staffing, Inc. is seeking two experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on the night shift at this Syracuse Hospital. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in critical pediatric care, especially those with experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers. As a PICU RN, you will provide high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill children in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support families through complex care situations.

Contract Details:

Start Date: 6/27
End Date: 9/24
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Note: Excessive time off and set weekly schedules will not be approved.
Weekly Pay: $2,720 (MI&L included)

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License (required)
  • BLS certification (required); ACLS and PALS preferred or ability to obtain
  • Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience (within the past 2 years) in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center (required)
  • Experience with EPIC EMR strongly preferred
  • Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and clinical judgment skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Must not have had any disciplinary actions, license suspensions, or liability claims
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and successful completion of pre-employment health and background screenings (including drug screening)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
  • Perform thorough and accurate assessments and document findings in the EMR
  • Implement individualized nursing care plans and evaluate patient outcomes
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members to deliver optimal care
  • Communicate effectively with families and provide support through complex care situations
  • Maintain accurate records using EPIC Electronic Medical Records (preferred)
  • Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition promptly and effectively
  • Adhere to trauma protocols and evidence-based best practices

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Confident in delivering care in high-acuity pediatric settings
  • Able to perform most PICU nursing skills with minimal orientation
  • Committed to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
  • Comfortable working night shifts, every other weekend, and select holidays
