Contract Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Case Manager / Utilization Review / Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI)
• Location:  Syracuse, NY 13210
• Contract Duration: June 2, 2025 – September 2, 2025
• Schedule: 5 eight-hour shifts per week
• Pay: Weekly (MI&L included ) $2,600

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted New York State RN license and registration
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); must be eligible for re-certification
• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of comparable size and complexity
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records is required
• Prior hospital-based case management experience is required
• No history of license or certification suspension, investigation, or disciplinary action
• No involvement in professional liability claims
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check

Skills and Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of case management, utilization review, and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) practices
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR for documentation and care coordination
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary hospital environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
• Preferred: Experience in Emergency Department Case Management

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive case management and utilization review for patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Ensure patients receive appropriate level of care and facilitate efficient resource utilization
• Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess and meet patient needs
• Review and enhance clinical documentation to support accurate coding, reimbursement, and quality outcomes
• Utilize EPIC EMR for all documentation, tracking, and communication related to patient care
• Adhere to all hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practices in case management and documentation
