Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join the team at Hospital, Syracuse, NY. This facility offers a dynamic environment with 11 Med/Surg Units, 7 specialized ICUs, a Step Down Unit, Adult and Pediatric ORs, and more. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality respiratory care to a diverse patient population in an acute care setting.

Contract Details:

Start Date: 7/07
End Date: 10/11
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Weekly Pay: $2,280 (MIL&L included)
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Qualifications:

• Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy

• Current New York State license and registration as a Respiratory Therapist

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical acute care experience post-A.A.S. degree

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy

• Institute and monitor oxygen therapy

• Assist physicians with the initiation and maintenance of continuous ventilation

• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

• Conduct pulmonary function tests

• Perform radial arterial punctures

• Deliver a full range of patient care functions in the acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision

Preferences:

• Out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply

• Pediatric experience is highly desirable
