Job Summary

We are seeking six Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) with strong scrub experience to join our Downtown OR team, serving both Adult and Pediatric Operating Rooms. Contract Details

• Position: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Location: Downtown Campus – Adult & Pediatric Operating Rooms, Syracuse, NY 13215
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: August 13, 2025
• Schedule: Day/Evening Shifts | 8-hour shifts or a mix of 8s and 12s | 80 hours biweekly
• Salary: $2,160 ( MI & L Included)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide skilled support during surgical procedures, including case setup, instrument handling, and maintaining a sterile field.
• Assist in a variety of procedures, including orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, vascular, and GYN.
• Collaborate with surgeons, RNs, and anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow.
• Function with minimal supervision and adapt quickly in high-acuity, trauma-driven environments.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Required
• Minimum 3 years recent experience (within the last 4 years) in an acute care OR setting
  • Experience must be in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center OR
  • A teaching hospital or facility of equivalent size, particularly in adult or pediatric OR
• Must have experience in general surgery plus specialty areas such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, vascular, ENT, bariatrics, GU, GYN
• Scrub experience is required
• First-time travelers will be considered only with prior experience in facilities of similar size or complexity
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must pass pre-employment health clearance, background check, and drug screening
• No history of certification suspension or professional misconduct

• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
• Proficiency in handling surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability and a strong focus on patient safety.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
