##  Trauma Registrar  ## 

Location: Syracuse, NY 

Salary: $40.00 / hr 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Trauma Registrar to join our Trauma Program at a leading hospital in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate collection, entry, and reporting of trauma data to support quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with national standards.

 Qualifications

– Experience as a Trauma Registrar is required.

– Completion of AIS Coding and ATS Trauma Registry courses required prior to contract start.

– CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries) certification is preferred.

– Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance.

 Key Responsibilities

– Collect and maintain high-quality, detailed patient data related to trauma cases, including demographics, injury details, treatment outcomes, and quality metrics.

– Enter and manage trauma data in the hospital’s trauma registry database, ensuring accuracy and adherence to American College of Surgeons (ACS) standards.

– Review medical records (including EMS, ED, and inpatient records) to identify qualifying trauma cases for inclusion in the registry.

– Generate statistics and reports on trauma data at both the hospital and regional levels for performance improvement initiatives.

– Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance trauma care processes and outcomes based on collected data.

– Maintain confidentiality of patient information while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for data submission.

– Participate in community programs and initiatives aimed at improving trauma care and prevention.

 Required Skills

– Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to trauma care.

– Proficiency in data entry and management within electronic health record systems.

– Excellent analytical skills for interpreting data and generating reports.

– Effective communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals and presenting findings.
