##  Sterile Supply Technician  ## 

Location: Syracuse, NY 

Salary: $30.00 / hr 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Sterile Supply Technician to join our healthcare team at a leading hospital in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies used in various clinical settings.

 Qualifications

– Must have successfully completed a nationally accredited central service technician exam and be certified as a Central Service Technician, OR have evidence of employment as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for at least one (1) year.

– Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance.

 Key Responsibilities

– Perform effective and safe decontamination, disinfection, washing, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and trays used for procedures in the Operating Room and other clinical areas.

– Utilize principles of aseptic technique and conduct quality checks with accuracy and reliability.

– Oversee and operate equipment for cleaning and disinfecting surgical instruments.

– Participate in the assembly of complex as well as simple surgical sets.

– Operate sterilization equipment including steam under pressure, Steris, and Sterrad systems.

– Record monitoring data for sterilization processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.

– Respond promptly to urgent and emergent requests from clinical personnel regarding instrument availability.

– Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure efficient operations.

 Required Skills

– Strong attention to detail to monitor sterilization processes and ensure compliance with infection control policies.

– Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

– Excellent organizational skills to manage instrument inventory and workflow.

– Knowledge of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization techniques.
