Social Worker ($34/HR)

Job Overview:

Cure Staffing, Inc. is working with one of the City’s largest Health Agencies. We are seeking qualified temporary medical support staff candidates who will provide reliable, professional, and appropriately skilled medical support in all temporary work assignments. All candidates must have education, experience, licenses, and certifications that are applicable and appropriate to the level of this position.

Cure Staffing is partnering up with the lead agency who provides emotional support to all incoming community members and staff alike. Emotional supports services include assisting those in distress to navigate the center, reduce stressors, improve coping and connection to case management services for on-going support. Candidates must be comfortable with high volume and different populations. PPE will be provided.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychological First Aid (PFA) to support  community members, with a focus on adjustment to changes, current challenges and receipt of center services.
  • Conduct emotional stress reaction assessment and provide support, crisis counseling, brief treatment, and referrals to on-site case management team.
  • Review on-site services and information with community members and advocate for needed follow-up with on-site case management team.
  • Facilitate warm handoff to onsite case management team for follow-up.
  • Provide mental health referrals for immediate and long term support.
  • Maintain a productive working alliance with navigation center agency leads and services providers.
  • Provide emotional support and needed mental health referrals navigation center staff.
  • Facilitate 911 calls for any emanate mental health crisis (including threats of harm to self and/or others).
  • Document all encounters and complete data collections encounter forms.
  • Disseminate psychological literature (tip-sheets) and NYCWELL pamphlets.
  • Participate in weekly staff briefings and provide weekly updates.
  • They provide referrals for both immediate and long-term support
  • Will make 911 calls as necessary, making assessments on the fly
  • Attend weekly staff meetings

Preferred Skills/ Experience:

  • Must have clinical skills
  • Language Need: Spanish speaking; experience working with diverse populations.
  • Experienced social workers, with experience in crisis response, disaster mental health and collaborating with local partners for referrals to long term services.
  • Experience with data collection and tracking.
  • Conduct assessment, provide psychological First Aid, crisis counseling and brief treatment,
  • Research, advocate, and secure resources and provide referrals for longer term services and support.
  • Support client’s adjustment to changes and current challenges
