[Travel] D/E RN- Critical Care- Adult PACU

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse with a strong background in critical care to provide exceptional pre- and post-operative care to adult patients in our PACU. This role is ideal for RNs who thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and are committed to patient safety and high-quality care.
Contract Details
- Location: Syracuse, NY 13215
- Department: Adult PACU (Pre/Post-Op)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: June 6, 2025
- End Date: September 10, 2025
- Schedule: 6 shifts per 2-week period (12-hour shifts: 07:00–19:30 or 11:00–23:30)
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Call Requirement: None
- Pay: Weekly $2,720 (MI&L included)
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted New York State RN license
- Current BLS certification (or ability to recertify prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience (within the last 2 years) in an acute care facility of comparable size and complexity
- Experience in PACU and/or critical care strongly preferred
- Travelers must have experience in hospitals of similar or greater size/trauma level
- No history of license or certification suspension/investigation or professional liability claims
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check
Skills and Requirements
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and quality care standards
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to surgical patients
- Perform accurate and timely patient assessments and nursing interventions
- Monitor and manage patient recovery following anesthesia
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
- Document all care activities in the electronic medical record (preferably EPIC)
- Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
