## Respiratory Therapist ## 

Location: Syracuse, NY 

Salary: $57.00 / hr 

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team at a leading hospital in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients with various pulmonary conditions.

 Qualifications

– A.A.S. in Respiratory Therapy

– NYS license/registration as a Respiratory Therapist

– Minimum of 2 years of post-A.A.S. degree clinical acute care experience required

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

– Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

 Key Responsibilities

– Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy to patients as prescribed by physicians

– Institute and monitor oxygen therapy for patients in need

– Assist physicians in instituting and maintaining continuous ventilation support

– Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when necessary

– Perform pulmonary function tests to assess respiratory health

– Conduct radial arterial punctures for diagnostic purposes

– Maintain a safe environment by practicing appropriate radiation safety and protection measures

– Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans

– Document patient care activities accurately in the medical record

 Required Skills

– Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment

– Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and recognize changes in patient conditions

– Proficiency in operating respiratory care equipment, including ventilators and nebulizers

– Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
