## Radiation Therapist ## 

Location: Syracuse, NY 

Salary: $70.00 / hr 

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team at a leading hospital in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy to patients, ensuring adherence to safety standards and protocols.

 Qualifications

– AAS or completion of an AMA-certified program in Radiation Therapy

– RRT license with three to five years of related experience

– New York State (NYS) license required

– Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

 Key Responsibilities

– Deliver radiation therapy to patients as prescribed, following regulations set by the National Cancer Institute

– Operate and maintain high-voltage radiation therapy equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards

– Coordinate patient appointments and interpret prescriptions to deliver radiation in accordance with physician instructions

– Prepare and operate all types of radiotherapy equipment, including Co-60, Linear Accelerators, and Simulators

– Take radiographic films to confirm treatment volumes and perform pre-treatment duties using the Simulator for tumor localization

– Collect physical factors for treatment plans and take photographs of patients for portal verification

– Ensure all safety measures are in place for patients and recognize various types of radiation reactions, providing appropriate care and instructions

– Maintain compliance with departmental and regulatory policies and procedures

– Record and maintain accurate treatment records and port films

– Participate in departmental in-service training and educational programs

– Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care

 Required Skills

– In-depth knowledge of radiation therapy techniques and equipment operation

– Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

– Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members

– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care
