** Pharmacy Technician **

Location: Syracuse, NY

Salary: $36.00 / hr

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team at a leading hospital in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications.

 Qualifications

– High school diploma or equivalency diploma issued by an appropriate educational authority

– Six months of experience assisting with filling medical prescriptions under direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist OR

– Pharmacy Technician Certification accredited by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR

– Certificate or diploma from a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists

– Working knowledge of acceptable methods and practices for receiving, storing, and issuing pharmaceutical supplies

– Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions

– Physical ability to bend, lift, climb, stoop, and kneel

– Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

 Key Responsibilities

– Fill unit dose carts and prepare IV admixtures

– Answer and screen telephone calls for pharmacists

– Screen orders from nursing units and direct drug orders to pharmacists

– Fill orders for IV sets, solutions, toiletries, and food supplies

– Deliver pharmaceuticals to nursing units

– Replenish and charge for ward stock items

– Restock pharmacy dispensing areas

– Obtain and organize supplies for pharmacist compounding

– Repackage bulk supplies

– Maintain and clean equipment used in the Pharmacy

– Perform light housekeeping duties

 Required Skills

– Attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation

– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment

– Strong organizational and time management skills

– Proficiency in basic computer applications

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
