**  OB Technician **

Location: Syracuse, NY

Salary: $50.00 / hr

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate OB Technician to join our Labor and Delivery team at a leading hospital in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

 Qualifications

– Associate degree in a health-related field or an equivalent combination of education and direct patient care experience

– Knowledge and understanding of aseptic technique

– Strong communication skills

– OB Tech, OR Tech, or Operating Room protocol experience strongly preferred

– Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance

 Key Responsibilities

– Observe and report symptoms, reactions, and changes of labor and delivery patients to the primary nurse

– Set up delivery rooms for deliveries using aseptic technique

– Assist families and visitors by providing support and appropriate information

– Take and record vital signs

– Serve as primary scrub person for emergent, elective, and routine C-sections or other surgical procedures performed within the department

– Set up and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures

– Assist patients with routine activities of daily living (ADLs)

– Maintain and stock necessary supplies and equipment for labor and delivery rooms

 Required Skills

– Proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterile procedures

– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

– Strong attention to detail and accuracy in patient care and documentation

– Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and family interaction

– Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
