Medical Doctor – Office of School Health (OSH)

Job Overview

This temporary 15 week position offers an excellent opportunity for qualified medical professionals to contribute to the health and well-being of New York City’s school students while working in a dynamic and challenging environment. We are seeking experienced Medical Doctors to join our school health program in a temporary capacity. This highly responsible position involves directing and coordinating medical care services, with a focus on reviewing Diabetes Medication Administration Forms (DMAF) and other Medical Accommodation reviews for school students.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process Diabetes Medication Administration Forms (DMAF) for school students
• Conduct Medical Accommodation reviews
• Assist in implementing new processes and documentation requirements as per recent lawsuit settlement stipulations
• Work within shortened turnaround times to complete DMAF reviews for the 2024-25 school year
• Collaborate with the OSH team to ensure compliance with medical care standards and regulations

Qualifications

• Valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York
• Minimum of four years of medical practice, including one year of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity
• Experience with processing/reviewing medical forms
• Experience working with child/student health

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with diabetes cases
• Knowledge of diabetes medications

Work Details

• Start Date: October 21, 2024
• End Date: June 20, 2025
• Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week for 15 weeks
• Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
• Location: IN PERSON  in LIC  with some potential travel to review cases

Compensation

Full-time, 35 hours per week with a one hour unpaid lunch. At the rate of $145/hr. Paid weekly on Tuesdays via direct deposit.
