Job Description:
We are seeking LPNs to join our Outpatient Unit in an acute inpatient setting. This position requires a compassionate, detail-oriented LPN who can provide high-quality care and support the efficient operation of an outpatient clinic.

Contract Details:
– Start Date: ASAP
– End Date: 8/02
– Location: Syracuse, NY
– Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
– Weekly Pay: $45 / per hour

Qualifications:
– Current, active LPN license in good standing
– Graduation from an accredited LPN program
– Prior experience in an acute care or outpatient setting preferred
– Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
– Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
– Knowledge of basic healthcare procedures and medication administration
– Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and assisting with patient mobility

Skills:
– Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
– Strong ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform a broad range of patient care functions in an acute care outpatient environment with minimal orientation or supervision
– Greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and prepare them for examinations
– Provide support during exams, including setting up trays for injections, measuring and recording patient progress, and taking vital signs
– Assist with general administrative duties such as reception, appointment scheduling, filing, and chart preparation
– Contact insurance companies to obtain authorizations for services (e.g., physical therapy, MRIs, CT scans, surgical procedures)
– Coordinate with primary care physicians to secure referrals for new patients and extensions for ongoing care
– Support physicians with direct patient care, including administering injections and assisting with procedures such as Pap smears
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and all clinical areas
– Utilize EMR for documentation and patient care activities
– Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse, following the nursing care plan
– Monitor and report patient responses to treatments
– Participate in tasks related to nursing unit management and overall clinical operations
