Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Pediatric Float Pool provides essential direct and indirect patient care to pediatric patients in a Level 1 trauma setting in Syracuse, NY. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the CNA supports nursing staff by assisting with daily patient needs, ensuring safety, and maintaining a clean and supportive environment for children and their families.

Contract Details

• Position: Certified Nursing Assistant – Pediatric Float Pool (Night Shift)
• Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
• Assignment Dates: 5/30 – 8/27
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 6 shifts per two-week period
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Pay: $31/hr paid weekly

Qualifications

• Current New York State CNA certification
• Eligible for CPR certification or recertification
• Minimum of one (1) year of patient care experience
• Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including obtaining vital signs, toileting, bathing, and feeding patients as assigned
• Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as safety risks
• Accurately obtain, record, and communicate patient information
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Demonstrate adaptability and responsiveness to changing patient needs
• Support and collaborate with nursing and healthcare team members
• Uphold ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
