** Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) **

Location: Syracuse, NY

Salary: $45.00 / hr

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at a leading hospital in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting.

 Qualifications

– Current New York State LPN license

– Ability to be certified/re-certified in CPR

– Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience required

– Prior experience in an inpatient setting preferred

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

– Ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, and other healthcare team members

 Key Responsibilities

– Perform majority of patient care functions needed in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision

– Greet patients, direct them to exam rooms, and prepare them for examinations

– Provide routine assistance during exams, including setting up trays for injections

– Measure and record patient progress and vital signs

– Assist with general office duties, reception, appointment scheduling, filing, and chart preparation

– Contact insurance companies to obtain authorizations for various procedures and treatments

– Liaise with primary care physicians to obtain referrals for new patients or extensions for current patients

– Assist physicians in patient care

– Maintain exam rooms and all clinical areas

– Administer injections and assist with paps and other procedures

– Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse as outlined in the nursing care plan

– Observe and report patient responses to treatments

– Participate in activities related to nursing unit management

 Required Skills

– Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (strongly desired)

– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment

– Strong attention to detail and accuracy in patient care and documentation

– Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

– Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
