** Dental Assistant **

Location: Syracuse, NY

Salary: $30.00 / hr

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team at a leading hospital in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to dental providers and ensure a positive experience for our patients.

 Qualifications

– High school diploma

– One year of experience in dental assisting OR graduation from an accredited program in dental assisting

– Knowledge of medical/dental terminology and medical billing (preferred)

– Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Program (strongly preferred)

 Key Responsibilities

– Serve as chair side assistant to dental providers in all aspects of general and operative dental procedures

– Handle and manipulate various dental instruments and apparatus as directed by the dental provider

– Greet patients in a friendly and courteous manner

– Record patient’s vital signs and follow proper medical record documentation protocol

– Review patient’s consent for treatment to ensure appropriate signatures are obtained

– Provide administrative support, including answering telephones and scheduling patient appointments using hospital computer information systems

– Demonstrate understanding of sterile instrument processing, including use of autoclave

– Operate x-ray equipment while observing universal and safety precautions

 Required Skills

– Working knowledge of specific techniques and sequences used in dental treatment

– Ability to handle dental instruments effectively

– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

– Proficiency in maintaining patient confidentiality

– Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
