Administrative Social Worker

Cure Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Social Worker for a long-term temporary assignment for the NFHV program.
The New Family Home Visits Initiative (NFHV) builds on the success of the Newborn Home Visiting Program established in 2004 and supports a call to action by the Mayor’s office Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity. The Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity initiative (TRIE) supports NYC neighborhoods across all five boroughs significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The NFHV Program supports the citywide health equity goal by identifying maternal health needs during pregnancy or soon after childbirth, preparing families for delivery and a new baby, and connecting families to needed services essential to the well-being of mothers, children, and families.
The Administrative Social Worker provides consultation and professional support to NFHV social workers that conduct mental health assessments with clients and connect them to the appropriate services. The Social Worker Supervisor supports social workers that sustain a caseload of clients and ensures timely client assessment and referrals, crisis intervention, advocacy and referrals to short-term mental health support. The Supervising Social Worker works on a multi-disciplinary team to identify appropriate resources, and service gaps, engage stakeholders and facilitate internal and external training.
The Administrative or Supervising Social Worker has to have great leadership skills and be able to supervise social workers who assess and follow up and link high-risk families to assertion interventions and support. Ensure social workers supervised identify resources for program clients and sustain partnerships with internal and external government and community bases organizations with serve birthing families.
To work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team environment to assist families in making service connections for social services and mental health needs. Reinforce the importance of maintaining client confidentiality and acting as a liaison between families and community agencies. Being able to multi-task and ensure the social worker team documents notes in the database system relevant to services and encounters between social workers and program clients. Provide assessments of mother and baby in the home to determine well-being. Ensure Social Workers can use Agency service engines or databases to find resources for clients.
The hours for this position are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday (35 hours per week)
